Ask any dive centre on Fuvahmulah for three tiger dives in a single day and the answer will be no. They are not being obstructive: no one operator may sell you more than one. Two limits govern what is possible here, and set against one another they yield a number most divers are never offered.

Each exists for a reason, and none bends for a booking. They are enforced as the trip is built rather than at the dock, so a combination that breaks one simply will not price: a considerably better place to discover it than the Maldives with your bags already packed.

Getting there
Fuvahmulah has its own airport. The flight from Malé takes about 55 minutes and runs daily, but seats go early in the season and the schedule moves.
We can hold and issue the domestic flight for you as a request item at $350 per person: it is not instantly confirmed, and we will tell you the moment it is. Speedboat tickets work the same way.
Common questions
Fuvahmulah is a single island that forms its own atoll, Gnaviyani, at 00°17′S 73°25′E: just south of the equator. It has its own airport, and the domestic flight from Malé takes about 55 minutes. Seats sell out early in season and the schedule moves, so we hold and issue the flight as part of the booking.
Most Maldivian atolls are a ring of reef about a shallow lagoon, which keeps the larger pelagic species comfortably offshore. Fuvahmulah has neither ring nor lagoon: the reef falls straight off the island into open ocean on every side. Deep water arrives at the shore, and the animals that live in it arrive with it, which is why tiger sharks are resident here rather than occasional.
November to April is the principal window, though not for the reason most people assume. The tigers are resident year round, so the season has little to do with whether the sharks are present. It concerns sea state and visibility.
Three. It is the island's limit rather than any one operator's preference, and it is counted per guest across every dive centre, so the tally cannot be reset by changing boats.
Yes: up to three, though no single dive centre can sell you more than one. Each of Fuvahmulah's three operators takes a guest on one tiger dive per day, and the island caps every diver at three dives daily. Three tiger dives is therefore the maximum physically possible, it uses your entire allowance for that day, and it means holding a place with three different operators at once, which is what Off Grid Holidays does in a single confirmed booking.

The blue water dive requires Advanced certification and more than 50 logged dives, because with no bottom beneath you there is no visual reference to hold depth against. Everyone needs a certification card, dive insurance and a signed waiver, all collected at checkout rather than on the island, so a missing document surfaces while you can still fix it.
No. The island does not run night dives and no operator there will sell one, so it cannot be arranged privately either. Plan the diving into daylight.
Guesthouses rather than resorts: there are no resorts on the island. Rates run from $45 to $95 per night across Ataraxis Grand & Spa, Equator Retreat and Hikers Villa. Airport pickup is included when the stay or the diving is booked through us.
You can, but then each piece is a separate arrangement and nobody carries the whole trip. Booking through Off Grid Holidays puts the stay, the dives and the transfers on one confirmed booking, and if a partner cannot deliver, arranging the replacement, credit or refund is ours to sort out, not yours.
